Dear New Volleyball Official,
Thank you for your interest in becoming an Official in the OCVOA. Here is the breakdown of the requirements for the 2019-2020 Season.
In Orange County, we require new officials to complete a minimum of 24 hours of training. This includes Classroom Instruction, On-court mentoring, a Practical on Court Evaluation, completion of a Study Guide and passing a Rules test with 80% accuracy. You need to pass both the On-Court Practical and the Rules Testing. Even then, there is no guarantee of being assigned matches. In the event that you do not pass and/or drop out of training, you will only receive a partial refund
To reserve a training spot with OCVOA, you must complete the online registration and pay the $150 registration fee. Within this fee is insurance coverage that provides Liability Insurance for you while performing duties as a Volleyball Official at any level. OCVOA requires registration to be completed and payment mailed by June 5th.
All NEW officials for the upcoming season will meet at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa on Tuesday, June 4, at 5:00.
